Y-GLAM is a performing arts project for same sex attracted and transgender young people between the ages of 14-25. Rehearsals occur weekly in the Brunswick area.
Since its beginning in 1998, Y-GLAM has devised and performed 13 theatre works, produced a Community Service Announcement for TV, designed an anti-homophobia postcard campaign and produced a 20-minute video, Just One Day.The project operates within a community cultural development framework where young people are involved in every aspect of the project, from membership on the steering committee to directing, from script writing to lighting design and operation, from acting to stage managing.No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and commitment.
