Residential Respite Booking Service

Residential Respite is the provision of short-term care in a facility such as a nursing home (high care) or a hostel (low care). Respite provides a break from the usual care arrangements for carers and the people they care for. The Residential Respite Booking Service organises regular respite bookings in selected aged care homes. Carers are provided with support and information about respite in these homes to assist them to make choices and plan their respite care requirements.

Respite organised by the Booking Service is available at high care (nursing) homes in the Northern Metropolitan Region that have been contracted to provide planned, quality respite care.

We may be able to assist carers by;

  • providing information on aged care homes that provide residential respite
  • assist with planning and booking respite dates
  • arrange respite and assist in organising all aspects of the respite booking
  • Support carers to plan and use regular respite
  • Provide emotional support for carers using residential respite

We also provide a booking service for residential respite in aged care facilities throughout the region. We maintain the Online Respite Vacancy Register for the Northern Metropolitan Region.
