PHaMs - Personal Helpers and Mentors

Quick Summary

Location(s):

Victoria Street - Coburg

PHaMs (Personal Helpers and Mentors) is a voluntary outreach program for people aged 16 and over who are seeking support with their recovery from mental illness or who have hoarding behaviors. People do not have to have a diagnosis or medical support to be eligible but people do need to experience significant difficulties in their life as a result of their mental health.

This program offers a worker to help people develop and achieve goals that they have identified. These may include;

  • Helping get relationships with friends, family, school back on track
  • Helping restore or develop links back into the community
  • Accessing medical supports
  • Exploring housing options and independent living skills

The workers can also encourage family and other supports to be involved if that is what the person wants.

This program is open to those living in the Moreland area only. For more information or to make a referral, please call the Victoria Street office on 03 9355 9900.
