Integrated Family Violence Service

Quick Summary

Specialist counselling and support for women and children who have experienced or are experiencing family violence.

Integrated Family Violence Service (IFVS) delivers counselling and group work programs to women and children who have or are experiencing family violence.  

Additional roles:

Risk and needs assessment and monitoring of ongoing risk, case planning and coordination, information provision, advocacy, referrals to appropriate supports and services, community education, secondary consultations.

IFVS Objectives are

  • to assist women and children to recover from the experiences of family violence,
  • to support women and children’s safety,
  • to reduce isolation and improve social connectedness.

 

Referrals

Referrals can be made to the IFVS counselling and group work program by contacting MCHS directly. Or by contacting the Northern Domestic Violence Outreach Duty Service (Berry Street Victoria) on (03) 9450 4700.

 

Eligibility

Women and children living in the City of Moreland.

The NIFVS is a partnership of locally-based agencies including Women’s Health in the North (WHIN), Elizabeth Hoffman House Aboriginal Women’s Service, Berry Street Victoria, Anglicare and 9 Community Health Services across the Northern Region who are committed to delivering high quality, responsive services to Women and children experiencing Family Violence.
