Increasing physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities

Opportunities for people with disabilities to engage in physical activity.

Working in partnership with Brunswick Industries and Shriving Day Program, MCHS is using a settings based approach to health promotion to increase opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in physical activity.  Brunswick Industries employs a large number of staff with a disability, while Shrivings Day Centre provides lunch and activities for the disadvantaged, elderly or disabled.  MCHS will work in consultation with both Shrivings Day Centre and Brunswick Industries, as well as other local activity providers including the YMCA to develop opportunities that are low cost and sustainable into the long term.
