Assessment, intervention and support for preschool aged children with developmental delays, and their families.

Foundations provide early childhood intervention services with a particular focus on language and communication, social interaction, sensory skills and motor skills. These programs are designed for the full participation of the parent with the child.

Each program is staffed by:

  • An Early Childhood Teacher
  • A Speech Pathologist
  • An Occupational Therapist

 

Our services

  • Consultation with family to create a Family Service and Support Plan
  • Individual Program Plan
  • Group Sessions
  • Home visits and kinder/childcare visits
  • Parent education sessions
  • Information and referral to other relevant agencies
  • Transitional support to other children's services and schools

 

Parent Involvement

  • Child and parent attend every session together
  • Parent education sessions are offered each term and are an important part of the programs


Libraries

Toy Library

Our Toy Library has a wide range of children's toys and picture books that can be borrowed for use at home.

Resource Library

Our Resource Library for parents also includes a wide range of books and videos on child development and disabilities that are related to our specialist programs.

Referrals can be made via the Northern Early Childhood Intervention Services - Central Intake on (03) 9304 0775.

 

Eligibility

  • Families with children aged 2-6 years of age
  • Children with significant speech and language delay and concerns in other areas of development
  • Families who live in the municipalities of Hume, Moreland or Darebin.
