  • Training and Development

    MCHS is committed to provide training and development, thus to enhance the skills and expertise of employees.
    An annual calendar outlines internal and external training covering areas of clinical practice, occupational health and safety, health promotion and information technology.  Employees are encouraged to discuss with their line manager their development needs during the year, in addition to formal discussions at the annual staff Individual Performance Review.

 

  • Management and Leadership Development Program.  
    MCHS is committed to ensure management staff is well equipped and supported in their role.  Internal training is offered to all leadership levels by experienced internal and external trainers.

 

  • Reward and Recognition Program
    MCHS continuously reviews its Reward and Recognition Program with a view to creating more and more opportunities.
    In one current program we recognise the efforts of long serving employees by celebrating their period of service at 10 years and every 5 years thereafter. In appreciation of their dedication and loyalty, staff are rewarded with an MCHS certificate of recognition and gift cards of varying value, dependent upon their length of service.

 

  • Employee Assistance Program
    Confidential and free external counselling service is offered to all MCHS employees and their immediate family members.

 

  • Staff Health Day
    Biannual events are held to encourage health and wellbeing of staff.  Staff are encouraged to become involved in planning the events and developing programs suited to all ages and abilities with a focus on fun and healthsome activities.

    Free annual flu vaccinations are offered to all staff through the Brunswick Community Medical Centre managed by St Vincent’s Hospital.

    MCHS is actively involved in supporting not only their local community but also communities in other parts of the world.  Staff members are invited to participate in child sponsorship through World Vision and support fund raising initiatives for the Aileu Foundation in East Timor.  MCHS has developed strong linkages with the Foundation and is examining ways in which it can not only offer funding but also professional expertise.
