2008 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards

At the 2008 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards, MCHS was nominated for the prestigious Premiers' Award for Primary Health Service of the Year.  The Premiers Award is awarded to the most outstanding health service of the year, and is the prestigious accolade to which a Victorian Health Service can aspire. The award recognises leadership and excellence in the provision of publically funded healthcare for the Victorian Community.

MCHS is very proud to be shortlisted as one of three finalists in this award and honoured to accept the Highly Commended Award for the category of Premiers Award for Primary Health Service of the Year.

This was the first time we entered these awards and to be shortlisted as finalists, and to then win a highly commended award is testament to the hard work and dedication of each and every one of the staff of MCHS.

Walking Group Program

In 2007 five of the peer leaders involved in the MCHS ‘Get Active Walking Group’ program received an award from Moreland City Council, as part of the ‘Honouring Women in Moreland Award Program for 2007’. The walking group facilitators received the award under the category of ‘Improving Social Conditions in Moreland’, and were recognised for their outstanding contribution and commitment to the establishment of the successful Peer Led Walking Group program at MCHS.
